Meet Dr. Hedrick

Hi, I’m Lucas Hedrick.

I’m a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine, with a Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Bastyr University. I also hold National Board Certification in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine and am a Certified Guide for earth-based methods of balancing the human physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies.

For nearly three decades, I’ve been dedicated to helping people feel better in their bodies and more at home in their lives.

WHAT I DO

My practice centers on two primary areas:

  • Pain management, with a focus on orthopedics and sports medicine
  • Fertility and reproductive care, supporting individuals and couples from pre-conception through pregnancy and post-delivery

Whether I’m healing an athlete recover from injury, supporting someone through IVF, easing pregnancy discomfort, or addressing chronic pain, my goal is the same: informed, personalized care that gets results.

ADVANCED CLINICAL TRAINING

I completed my master’s degree in 1998 and later earned my doctorate with a focus in pain management. Over the years, I’ve sought out immersive, hands-on training experiences that continue to shape my clinical approach.

I trained extensively with world-renowned orthopedic and sports medicine practitioner Whitfield Reeves — an experience that transformed the way I approach treating musculoskeletal pain and athletic injuries.

Most recently I spent two years in a preceptorship at Harborview Medical Center in the Pain Management department, working in an integrative inpatient setting. The program emphasized research, design, and evidence-based pain management protocols, sharpening both my clinical precision and collaborative care skills.

Earlier in my career, I completed a multi-year fertility apprenticeship in Northern California, working alongside one of the region’s leading fertility acupuncturists in partnership with a major fertility clinic. My training included IVF support, natural fertility care, labor preparation, breech presentation support, and miscarriage prevention. I am proud to be a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine and to continue supporting growing families every day.

HOW I PRACTICE

I take an integrative, hands-on approach, drawing from:

  • Acupuncture
  • Acupressure
  • Cupping
  • Moxibustion
  • Tui na
  • Gua sha
  • Trigger point therapy
  • Herbal medicine supplements
  • Personalized self-care protocols

Care should feel collaborative, grounded, and empowering. I work with you to build a clear plan that fits your body, your goals, and your life.

RECOGNITION

I’m honored to have been named “Top Complementary Care” in East Asian Medicine by Seattle Met Magazine for three consecutive years -2023, 2024, and 2025. It’s deeply meaningful to be recognized by my community for work I truly love.

COMMUNITY AND LIFE OUTSIDE THE CLINIC

I consider myself an active member of our community and regularly volunteer my time supporting LGBTQ+ individuals and un-housed populations. Service is part of my practice philosophy.

Outside the clinic, you’ll usually find me traveling, hiking, or exploring the incredible healing plants and foods growing in our region. Nature continues to be one of my greatest teachers and healers.
